Imagine you lived in Ireland in 1850. You could not change the system that oppressed you. But you could emigrate to a new world where you could be free.

I think that this is happening again. We cannot change the system that oppresses us but we can emigrate to a new system that makes us free. This new New World is based on the Network. Using the Network properly, as Nature does, gives the small, the node, great power. The power comes from the connections. Now small can be both beautiful and powerful. Now we can return to a human scale for life and for work.

This is the time for the pioneers. The explorers already have opened up the new country. With enough pioneers, most people will come.

The issue is trust.

The task I have set myself is that of a guide. I will show you how people have made the crossing to this new New World. I will show you the new rules. I will show you the benefits. I will show you how you can take the first steps to take you there. My hope is that if I can do this well enough that you will have enough trust to make the journey.

No one book could show all of this. It’s too vast and too complex. And anyway, who has the time for a huge book? So instead of the tome, I have planned at least 20 short books. Each book will be between 10,000 and 20,000 words long. They might take an hour to read. All will be available as eBooks and as PDF’s. Link to Store. Each will look at an aspect of how we live and show you the new network alternative to the institutional way that we have grown up to see as normal.

Do you want to age well? Most of us do. If you are my age, 60, this is more important a question that if you are 30. But most of us would not wish to have heart disease, cancer, dementia when we get old.

Most of us think it is normal that we will get ill like this.

But science today tells us that this is not “Normal”. Our evolutionary past designed us to be active and fit until we drop dead. Why? Because raising human children takes so long. Mature adults had to do most of the hard work enable us to invest up to 25 years in our kids.

We are designed by our evolution to reach a plateau of fitness in mid life. So why do most of us not live like this?

We don’t because, we have strayed away from the best way of living that fits our evolution best. Our culture has got too far ahead of our biology. We eat foods that make us ill. We have lost our social identity and power and that makes us ill. And we have lost touch with the circadian rhythms of the Natural World, and that has made us ill too.

We have lost our fit with our true nature.

This book will explain these ideas and offer you a holistic manual for getting well and staying well.


Lessons from Vimy Today nearly all organizational leaders have grown up in world where social networks did not exist. They and their organizations are designed around command and control. They are told that they must use social media and networks. But all they know is how to control. They do not know what to do to change their culture and organization so that they can take advantage of the power of the new.

The same challenge faced generals on all sides in 1914. They too had only the experience of the Napoleonic tradition. The culture and the organization of the armies of the day were mismatched. The result was deadlock and slaughter.

That is until the Canadian Corps was formed from 100,000 amateurs that had no tradition of command and control. On April 9th 1917, the Canadian Corps won the battle of Vimy Ridge and proved a new way of warfare. The CC went on to become the shock troops of the British Army and their approach became the approach of all armies for the rest of the war in France.

It’s a practical story of how to change culture and organization and how to put the human being at the centre of the challenge. It is the story that all need to understand to make these same changes today.

And for those of you who wish to go deeper still, I will go deep into the science of social networks and to change itself.

How do Human Networks Work and why they will destroy machine alternatives.

The Fractal History of Humanity I will show you the history of the series of paradigm shifts in human culture. I will show you why I think that they are like the ages of a developing person. And so why I am hopeful that we are finally growing up as a species.
